Abstract

The chapter 'Investigation of the Potentials of the Agrivoltaic Systems in Turkey' explores the promising intersection of solar energy and agriculture. By leveraging a GIS-based multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model, the study identifies optimal fields for installing agrivoltaic systems in three key provinces: Konya, Ankara, and Şanlıurfa. The methodology involves collecting GIS data for various evaluation criteria, such as solar energy potential, aspect, slope, and proximity to infrastructure, and assigning weights using the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP). The resulting suitability maps highlight areas with the highest potential for dual-use land, offering valuable insights for sustainable energy and crop production. The study not only contributes to the existing literature on agrivoltaic systems but also provides practical guidance for practitioners seeking to optimize land use for both energy and agricultural purposes.
