Abstract

Emulsion polymerization using a deep eutectic solvent (DES) as continuous phase was performed for the first time. Considering that the electrolytes concentration in a DES is much higher than the one required to cause catastrophic coagulation in the analogous aqueous colloidal system, this result is notable and interesting. Hypothesis and questions that can guide future research on this regard are drawn.
