Die Rolle des Laufbahncommitments in der beruflichen Entwicklung

Zusammenfassung

Für erwerbstätige Personen und Unternehmen gewinnt das Laufbahncommitment zunehmend an Bedeutung, da es sich über organisationale Grenzen hinweg erstreckt und beispielsweise im Zusammenhang mit dem Laufbahnerfolg steht. Im Rahmen des Kapitels werden die wichtigsten Merkmale des Laufbahncommitments vorgestellt. Im Anschluss werden verschiedene Prädiktoren des Laufbahncommitments diskutiert. Dazu zählen beispielsweise die Persönlichkeit, Arbeitserfahrung oder der berufsbezogene Kontext wie Merkmale des Arbeitsvertrags oder die organisationale Unterstützung. Daran anschließend werden mögliche Konsequenzen des Laufbahncommitments erläutert. Mögliche Konsequenzen des Laufbahncommitment sind beispielsweise die Kündigungsabsicht und Kündigung, die Arbeitszufriedenheit sowie der Laufbahnerfolg. Auf Basis der diskutierten Forschungsergebnisse bezüglich Prädiktoren und Konsequenzen des Laufbahncommitments werden Ansatzpunkte zur Erhaltung sowie Erhöhung des Laufbahncommitments diskutiert sowie ein Ausblick für weitere Forschung gegeben.
