Current research and concept vehicles more and more give an outlook on fully automatic driving in the future. Thereby, they are querying the fundamental automobile engineering for manual operating vehicles and establish new approaches for vehicle conception and design. Based on this point of view, Volkswagen, together with the Technische Universität Braunschweig, worked out a procedure model, which considers the constructional design flexibilities early in vehicle development. …
