Postcritical Deformation of Multilayered Plates of Regular Structure

Abstract

The postcritical deformations of a multilayered plate of regular structure consisting of rigid and soft layers are investigated. Nonlinear expressions for strains of the rigid and soft layers are deduced using the hypothesis of transformation of the normal during deformation into a broken line. An expression for the total energy of a layered plate is found. Employing the principle of smoothing, a variation equation is derived.
