Abstract

The chapter delves into the ergonomic assessment of working postures in the technological sewing process, specifically focusing on the REBA method to identify and mitigate risks of bone and joint damage in workers. The study analyzes nine workplaces in a men’s jacket production line, recording various technological operations and evaluating the workload using the ErgoFellow computer system. The results highlight significant workload scores, particularly in suboperations like putting together, positioning, and sewing, which require high accuracy and front flexion of the trunk. The chapter proposes adjustments to workplace dimensions, such as seat height, to reduce workload and prevent potential injuries. By offering a comprehensive analysis and practical recommendations, the chapter underscores the importance of ergonomic design in preventing occupational health issues in the textile industry.
