In this paper, we present a survey of new developments in rough mereology, i.e. approximate calculus of parts, an approach to reasoning under uncertainty based on the notion of an approximate part (part to a degree) along with pointers to its main applications. The paradigms of Granule Computing (GC), Computing with Words (CWW) and Spatial Reasoning (SR) are particularly suited to a unified treatment by means of Rough Mereology (RM).
