There is growing demand for high-end luxury motorcycles in India. From the 773 luxury bikes sold in India during 2011-12, sales rose to around 9,120 units in 2014-15. Mahindra Two-Wheelers saw the opportunity in this segment, and launched a new ‘tourer’ motorcycle called the Mojo. For a high-end luxury motorcycle, low engine noise is an important attribute both from a regulatory and a customer’s point of view. The team at Mahindra turned to multiphysics simulation from COMSOL to modify their muffler design to meet such demands. …
