Some Adhesion and Physicomechanical Properties of Blends of Polyethylene with Polar Copolymers

Abstract

The effect of a polyethylene blend composition and concentration of polar components of ethylene copolymers with vinyl acetate and copolymers of ethylene/vinyl acetate/maleic anhydride on some properties of high-pressure polyethylene compositions with these copolymers is discussed. It is shown that, for the blends under investigation, the character of the adhesive strength dependence determines the vinyl acetate content in the polar copolymer. It is established that the presence of anhydride units in the polar copolymer increases the absolute adhesive strength of the composition without affecting the nature of its dependence on composition of the polyolefin blend.
