The core of the BMW S 1000 RR model year 2019 is the newly designed four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 999 cm3 and the same stroke-to- bore ratio as its predecessor. An increased peak output of 152 kW and a maximum torque of 113 Nm with a more even torque curve in the lower and medium speed range characterize the unit. In addition to the variable intake manifolds, the variable control of the intake valves is responsible for this. The ShiftCam system resolves the conflict between peak power and high torque at lower revs. …
