Use of Lactam-Containing Plastisols from Halogenated Polymers for Improving the Strength of Adhesion between an Ethylene–Propylene Elastomer Composite and a Metal

Abstract

This paper concerns the possibility of improving the strength of bonds in rubber–metal composites, which are represented by ethylene–propylene and ethylene–propylene–diene rubbers and a metallic substrate, namely, St 3 steel, and operated at increased temperatures, by using primers based on halogenated elastomers plasticized by lactam-containing complexes in an adhesive composition. This technique provides the possibility of operation under the conditions of increased temperatures for rubber–metal composites.
