6. Virtual Reality in Personalauswahl und Personalentwicklung

Zusammenfassung

Die Entwicklung und Verbreitung neuer Technologien stellen Forschung und Praxis im Personalkontext fortwährend vor Herausforderungen. Gleichzeitig bieten sie aber auch stets das Potenzial bestehende Prozesse zu Verbessern oder sogar völlig neue Herangehensweisen zu ermöglichen. Eine solcher Technologien, um die es in diesem Kapitel geht, ist Virtual Reality (VR). Derzeit findet VR hauptsächlich Verwendung in Training, Lernen und Therapie, woraus sich diverse mögliche Anwendungsgebiete in der Personalentwicklung ableiten. Der Mehrwert liegt hierbei vor Allem in der Möglichkeit komplex nachzustellende oder auch gefährliche Szenarien relativ sicher, kosteneffizient und realitätsnaher als 2D Computersimulationen Trainieren zu können. Auch in der Personalauswahl zeichnen sich Mögliche Verwendungen ab, wobei die Komplexität und möglichen Komplikationen der Nutzung von VR im Vergleich zu Techniken wie Rollenspielen oder herkömmlichen Onlineassessments deutlich stärker zu Tragen kommen. Die möglichen Anwendungsgebiete werden anhand ausgewählter Fallbeispiele genauer betrachtet. Insgesamt stellt VR einen weiteren Entwicklungsschritt des allgemeinen Trends digitale Inhalte interaktiver und immersiver zugänglich zu machen dar. In vielen Fällen wird sich dabei zeigen, dass die Einstiegshürde weniger hoch ist als sie auf den ersten Blick scheinen mag.
