Voluntary Environmental Management Systems and Regulatory Relief

I would like to address several issues: First, what are the main differences between the European Union “Eco-Management and Audit Scheme” (EMAS) and the international standard ISO 14001 in terms of concept and implementation in EU member states? Second, which conditions justify regulatory relief for certified or registered companies from environmental command and control requirements? And, finally, is there a need for regional environmental management standards such as EMAS in addition to the worldwide standard ISO 14001?
