Pollutant emissions from internal combustion engines must be reduced in the long term to a level at or even below that of ambient air. This goal, often referred to as Zero Impact Emissions, is even more ambitious than the forthcoming regulations under Euro 7 legislation. Compared to the levels required under Euro 6d, the reduction required to achieve this is 99.9 % for NOx and 99.2 % for particulate emissions, according to FEV. …
