Abstract

This paper presents a new low power two-input Exclusive-OR gate based on quantum cellular automata. The proposed XOR gate performs in a different manner from conventional previous XOR gates, which are mainly based on cell leveled format. Common XORs are designed utilizing AND-OR-INVERTER method. For the proposed new design, the XOR gate is implemented based on QCA cell interaction directly. To explore the efficiency of the proposed design in large area and complex QCA structures, even parity generator circuits with 4, 8, 16 and 32 bits lengths are implemented. The simulation results demonstrate better performance of the proposed design in comparison with previous design in terms of area, latency and energy dissipation. We demonstrate correctness functionality of the proposed architectures using QCADesigner as a simulator tool. The energy dissipation of proposed design has been evaluated by QCAPro tool.
