For automated driving from level 4 onward, vehicles need a considerable number of reliable sensors on board to capture the environment. Decisive among these will be cameras and lidar systems, but above all radar sensors. At the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM), these have been investigated and further developed.
