Zusammenfassung

Prof. Dr. Tobias Greitemeyer, Dr. Manuel Ninaus, Prof.in Dr.in Elisabeth Weiss zeigen die positiven kognitiven, verhaltensbezogenen, affektiven, motivationalen und sozialen Effekte von Videospielen auf, die vor allem in Bezug auf die mentale Gesundheit genutzt werden können. Gerade die ansteigende Anzahl psychischer Krankheiten könnten durch die positiven mentalen Effekte von Videospielen von großer Bedeutung sein. Daher wird, nach einem Überblick über die Effekte von Videospielen auf die Gesundheit, der Einsatz von Videospielen zur Förderung mentaler Gesundheit im klinisch psychologischen Bereich beleuchtet. Abschließend werden die Potenziale von Videospielen im klinischen psychologischen Kontext auf der Ebene der Motivation, des Transfers, und des Zugangs genauer beleuchtet und wichtige Schritte zur Implementierung gegeben.
