We present some queueing models that explain the emergence of heavy tails (in particular, power tails) in events related to human activities, such as the time it takes humans to perform a certain task, or the time it takes a human to return to a certain task. This is not a novel topic, our research into this has been motivated by [1] which attracted a lot of attention, and was not without controversy, see, e.g. [5]. …
