The first four-stroke engines with two-stage turbocharging are on the market. At ABB, two-stage turbocharging is already entering its second generation. On diesel engines the aim is to further enhance NO x emissions, fuel consumption and power density and on gas engines power density, load acceptance and operating flexibility. Ease-of-mainteneace is also a high priority. …
