Abstract

The change in the strength of a metal–rubber joint in samples under conditions of imitation of the operation of rubber–metal products at a facility has been studied. The studies have been carried out for waterproof and oil-resistant rubbers attached to titanium alloy and stainless steel using Khemosil 211 and 51-K-10V adhesives with preliminary chemical modification of the rubber surface and treatment of metal surface either with VPF-T paste, or DChK shot, or only by degreasing. The strength of the adhesive joint before and after aging was determined. It is shown that, in order to maintain the level of strength of binding waterproof rubber through a system of adhesives throughout the entire service life of products, it is optimal to treat the metal surface with DChK shot or VPF-T paste, and when binding oil-resistant rubber, only degreasing the metal is sufficient to maintain the strength level.
