Abstract

To expand the range of plywood products with simultaneous promotion of competitiveness, we performed a series of studies of the process of plywood manufacture using adhesives based on melamine resins. Due to expansion of the area of application of urea and melamine formaldehyde resins, it is now possible to obtain environmentally friendly plywood with increased water resistance for its application in construction and the transport and furniture-making industries. The use of these resins provides an increase in the performance of plywood production through a reduction in the gluing time with simultaneous decrease in heat consumption. The resins of this type and adhesive compositions on their basis allows for competition with other countries on the market of high-water-resistance plywood.
