Abstract

This chapter delves into the intricate balance required between technological advancement, human intervention, and business sustainability during the adoption of Industry 5.0. It begins by highlighting the potential benefits and challenges posed by Industry 5.0 technologies, such as improved productivity and efficiency, but also concerns over sustainability and human values. The study aims to identify and rank challenges and solution measures through a systematic literature review and a hybrid Best Worst Method (BWM) - Elimination and Choice Expressing Reality (ELECTRE) approach. The research emphasizes the need to consider sustainability at every stage of Industry 5.0 implementation and encourages stakeholder involvement to address potential negative impacts. The chapter concludes by offering implications for policymakers and industry leaders to ensure that Industry 5.0 is adopted responsibly, benefiting society while minimizing negative effects on individuals and the environment.
