A Method for Calculating the Parameters of a Unit for Thermoradiation Treatment of Polymer Coatings in the Restoration of Car Body Parts

Abstract

A description of an algorithm and computer program for calculating the design and operating parameters of a unit for thermoradiation treatment of polymer coatings in the restoration of type I body parts of automotive vehicles is provided. Using the example of gearbox housings of GAZ-24 and GAZ-53 vehicles, a high convergence of the calculated and experimental data of infrared heating parameters is shown, which confirms the correctness of the developed calculation method. The results of experimental studies of the defectiveness of elastomeric coatings after heat treatment by convective and thermoradiation methods are presented. It is shown that the thermal treatment of F-40S elastomeric coatings by the thermoradiation method decreases both the area of the destroyed coating and the concentration of pores in the coating; that is, the overall quality of the coatings is improved.
