Abstract

The article discusses the importance of wind energy and the use of multi-rotor wind turbines (MRWT) to enhance energy capture efficiency. It introduces a new feedback proportional-integral (FPI) controller designed to improve the direct vector control (DVC) strategy for a double-powered asynchronous generator (DPAG) in an MRWT system. The FPI controller simplifies control, reduces power ripples, and enhances energy quality. The proposed DVC-FPI strategy is validated through MATLAB simulations, demonstrating its superior performance over traditional DVC methods in terms of energy quality, overshoot, steady-state error, and response time. The results highlight the robustness and effectiveness of the FPI controller in improving the efficiency and reliability of wind power generation systems.
