Abstract

The study delves into the seismic behavior of shallow tunnels, highlighting the importance of factors such as tunnel depth, lining thickness, shape, and seismic wave types. Using the Constantine Motorway Tunnel in Algeria as a case study, the research employs advanced numerical techniques to simulate the dynamic behavior of tunnels under seismic conditions. The findings reveal significant insights into the stability of shallow tunnels, providing valuable data for future design and safety considerations in seismically active regions.
