Recovering a Reducing-Gear Shaft Neck by Reinforced-Bush Adhesion

Abstract

A sophisticated approach to the recovery of the worn shaft neck of a general-purpose reducing gear operating in contact with a rubber–metal seal by means of adhesion of a reinforced repair bush was considered. Alternative methods for repair were analyzed, the optimal mode of reinforcing chemical–thermal treatment of repair details was determined, and their relative wear resistance was tested. Results of experimental studies on the evaluation of the effect of nitriding on the strength of adhesive joint are given.
