Abstract

Results are provided for us of ferrosilicon slag mainly containing silicon as a substitute for lump ferrosilicon FS65 during steel deoxidation on tapping a converter and steel treatment in the ladle-furnace unit. Physical and chemical property data for this material and its effect on metal and melted slag chemical composition are given. Comparative analysis is performed for the effect of changing slag regime when using ferrosilicon slag on steel ladle slag belt area life.
