Chapter 1. Introduction
Abstract
Hydroforming is an advanced metal forming technology being extensively used in many industries. Aiming for the three typical structures, this chapter presents the characteristics of hydroforming of tubes, sheets and shells. Overview of the three kinds of hydroforming was introduced individually. The perspectives of tube and sheet hydroforming technology were particularly discussed. Finally, recent developments of tubes, sheets and shells hydroforming were given.

Chapter 2. Hydroforming of Variable Diameter Tubular Parts
Abstract
This chapter illustrates details of the process stages of hydroforming for variable diameter tubular parts. The determination of main process parameters is introduced for each process operation. In addition, important process know-how of hydroforming is systematically introduced, including defects control, thickness and tube candidates, friction and lubrication. At last, practical hydroforming cases of typical variable diameter tubular parts was given.

Chapter 3. Hydroforming of Curved Parts with Irregular Cross-Sections
Abstract
This chapter particularly introduced the important hydroforming category of curved parts with irregular cross-sections. Process and typical cross-sections of curved irregular cross-sectioned parts are given. The major operations of tube bending and hydro-bending are given. In particular, the method for reducing calibration pressure was discussed. A series of applications of hydroforming parts with curved axis were presented.

Chapter 4. Hydroforming of Multi-branch Tubular Parts
Abstract
This chapter focuses on the hydroforming multi-branch tubular parts. Classification and processes of multi-branch tubes are described. Typical defect, limit branch height, and thickness distribution are discussed. At last, classic hydroforming multi-branch tubular parts are presented, including multi-step hydroforming three-branch aluminium alloy tube, hydroforming of ultra-thin T-shaped stainless steel tube and the Ni-based super alloys tubes.

Chapter 5. Stress–Strain Analysis for Tube Hydroforming
Abstract
The stress–strain states and yield locus during hydroforming are comprehensively illustrated. Particularly, the stress–strain states of curved tubes and Y-shaped tubes are discussed. The stress locus of tube hydroforming is presented. At last, the stress-state of corner zone and the splitting mechanism are discussed.

Chapter 6. Equipment and Tooling of Hydroforming
Abstract
This chapter thoroughly introduces the equipment and tooling. The construction and functions of hydroforming equipment are overall described. The main parameters of equipment are given. Particularly, the die-clamping presses of hydroforming are classified as the long- and short- stroke types. Constructions of large-scale hydroforming equipment and production line are given. Finally, the tooling of hydroforming is presented briefly.

Chapter 7. Sheet Hydroforming Process
Abstract
This chapter deals with the specific sheet hydroforming systematically. Fundamentals are comprehensively introduced, including process principle, process parameter calculation, limiting drawing ratio and types Process knowledge of dimensional accuracy and thickness distribution of hydroformed parts are selectively introduced. In addition, the equipment and tooling of sheet hydroforming are specifically introduced. At last, some innovations of sheet hydroforming processes are presented, i.e. the sheet hydroforming with radial pressure, sheet hydroforming with pre-bulging and hydroforming of the double curved parts.

Chapter 8. Die-Less Hydroforming of Shells
Abstract
This chapter presents a comprehensive introduction of the die-less hydroforming shells. The structure of shells and manufacturing process are given. Typical shell hydroforming are individually presented including principle, stress analysis and process parameter effect on defects and thickness distribution. The introduced typical process cases are hydroforming for ellipsoidal shells, hydroforming of both normal ellipsoidal and prolate shells with double generating lines, and the hydroforming of toroidal shells.
