Abstract

With the aim of obtaining diphilic elastomers that may hold promise as modifiers of impact viscosity and adhesion of thermosetting adhesives, polyblock polybutadiene–poly(tetramethylene oxide) block copolymers are synthesized. The synthesized block copolymers are shown to possess properties of reinforced elastomers with very high relative elongation at break (up to 6000%); thanks to their diphilic nature and the presence of urethane groups, they the improve operational properties of adhesive–melts meant for gluing rubber–fabric materials.
