Abstract

The article delves into a comprehensive performance analysis of student retention outcomes in a higher education institution, utilizing the Human Performance Technology (HPT) Model. It explores the application of the HPT Model to systematically identify and address performance gaps in student retention, emphasizing the importance of a data-driven approach. The study focuses on four key areas: the desired state of retention performance, the actual state, the performance gaps, and the root causes of these gaps. The research involves multiple data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, and extant data analysis, to gather insights from both students and administrators. The findings highlight the critical importance of resources, opportunities for connection and engagement, and effective communication and information sharing. The article also discusses the value of strategic alignment and the systematic approach of the HPT Model in addressing complex performance problems in higher education.
