Abstract

We analyze the peculiarities of formation of autodyne and noise characteristics in an autodyne generator when exposed to electromagnetic radiation reflected from the object of study. We obtain expressions and conversion factors, measurement error and dynamic range in an autodyne meter for vibration parameters and small displacements. We develop recommendations for the optimal choice of the operating point of such measurement instruments.
