WiMAX referes to IEEE 802.16 standard for metropolitan area networks that has inherent support for variety of real and non real applications. The quality of service mechanism in WiMAX has been left as open issues for vendors. This paper proposes a bandwidth allocation scheme for WIMAX networks using fuzzy logic concepts. The system works as adaptive technology in granting bandwidth to all traffic classes and helps to satisfy quality of service requirements for all service classes. The results demonstrate that proposed system was able to fulfill requirements of all classes and avoid starvation of low priority classes.
