The problem of the design of interfaces in order to formulate intelligent and flexible queries to relational data base, is dealt with in this paper. Such queries are really effective if the user does not need a particular language and if they can truly represent his objectives. An approach based on a development tool (Shell) in a Macintosh environment is proposed; this Shell allows to build user interfaces based on a Deductive Processor for a particular data base.
