Abstract

To nurture innovation, an organization must embrace unforeseen potential. Planning for projected outcomes gives way to sensing, experimentation and enquiry. The magic happens in the places ‘in between’: we lose our bearings and explore things afresh; we ask powerful questions like ‘Where next?’. The best analogy is play. How can organizations enable play? What sort of space helps people let go?
