Abstract
This Chapter deals with planning and implementation of data collection using various techniques, which could be further distinguished into sample surveys and special studies, carried out in an integrated manner or separately depending on considerations of cost-effectiveness or the need for specialized teams. The need for maintaining compatibility among various groups of data, originating from different sources, is very important in order to allow smooth data integration and analysis. A holistic view is, therefore, called for in collection and compilation of data originating from different sources.
