Abstract
Supply chain case studies have attracted increasing attention since the early 2000s, and the very last years (2014–2015) of the dataset being analysed here in particular have shown significant publication numbers. The average number of cases in published research work has increased to around three. Moreover, scientific standards are increasing all the time, if the number of references is a proxy for this development. While there are many journals relevant to the subject (more than 200), most of the content is concentrated in a few leading publications (about thirty). Many of these journals were not indexed, or had a very low impact, in the early 2000s.
