Audi will be showing the A6 E-Tron Concept at Auto Shanghai 2021. The vehicle is based on the all-electric PPE platform developed jointly with Porsche.

The Audi A6 E-Tron Concept study presented in China is a 4.96 m long, 1.96 m wide and only 1.44 m high hatchback. The design with its closed single frame gives a hint of Audi’s planned electric production models. The cW value of the concept car is 0.22.

It is based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform developed with Porsche. The first Audi production vehicles based on this modular system are to be presented in the second half of 2022. The battery, which is integrated very flat between the axles, is said to offer around 100 kWh in the A6 E-Tron Concept, which should provide a range of over 700 km. The 800-V charging technology allows charging from 5 to 80 % in around 25 min. The two electric motors on the front and rear axles of the concept car have a system output of 350 kW (476 PS) and a torque of 800 Nm.

Light projections for fun and safety

When it comes to lighting technology, Audi provides a glimpse of future possibilities. To ensure that the occupants do not have to be bored even during the targeted short charging times, the digital matrix LED headlights can serve as a projector for a video game when the vehicle is parked in front of a wall. Three LED projectors on the sides can also project warning symbols on the ground, and another four high-resolution LED projectors create turn signal projections on the ground.
