For the 10th time, the powertrain and sustainable fuels community will meet at the International Engine Congress. Be there from February 28, 2023 to March 1, 2023 in Baden-Baden (Germany). Participation is also possible virtually via live stream. Register now!

At the 10th International Engine Congress 2023 organized by ATZlive and VDI Wissensforum, experts in engine development and fuel specialists from all over the world will meet to exchange practice-oriented about the future of the internal combustion engine. The congress deals with the entire system of engine technology: from energy generation to energy storage and energy conversion. It brings together the current state of technological knowledge of the entire system of non-fossil fuels and internal combustion engines and their holistic assessment on climate protection.

You can look forward to keynotes from Dr. Michael Steiner (Porsche), Siegfried Pint (Audi), Jürgen Lehmann (Daimler Truck) and Dr. Markus Müller (Deutz) on the first day of the congress, as well as from Dr. Thomas Schlick (Roland Berger), Prof. Dr. Christian Beidl (TU Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr. Thomas Koch (KIT) as well as Pierre Olivier Calendini (Aramco Fuel Research Center) on the second day.

Key Topics of The International Engine Congress 2023 include:

  • Climate-friendly internal combustion engines from a global perspective
  • Internal combustion engines and fuels as a complete system: CO2 neutrality, emissions, electrification
  • The use of hydrogen and synthetic fuels
  • Cross-sector life cycle considerations.

Three Thematic Pillars

The International Engine Congress is based on three thematic pillars: namely the parallel sessions "passenger car engine technology", "commercial vehicle engine technology" and "sustainable fuels & energy". By bringing together passenger car and commercial vehicle engine developers as well as fuel experts, the exchange of experience is to be promoted both nationally and internationally within the multi-track congress.

The event is primarily aimed at engineers and technicians in the industry or persons involved in research and teaching who are engaged in the optimization of the traditional development areas of the combustion engine or the advancement of procedures and systems to produce conventional or renewable fuels and lubricants. The lectures will be equally attractive for chemists and biologists who work in this industry. The focus will be on both diesel and spark-ignition engines (gasoline/gas) for passenger and commercial vehicles and off-highway applications.
