192. Geotechnical Characterization and Slope Stability of a Relict Landslide in Bimsoils (Blocks in Matrix Soils) in Dowtown Genoa, Italy

Abstract

The slope stability along a cross section on the right bank of Fereggiano creek, Genoa was investigated. The empirical Medley approach for blocks-in-matrix-soils (Bimsoils) was used. The analysis was performed through the use of GLE/Morgenstern and Price method considering the effects of boulders within the landslide body. The results show how the boulders can significantly affect the value of the safety factor and the shape of the slip surfaces. This slope stability model can be used for a preliminary analysis in such a complex geomaterial.
