High and Low Dust SCR Processes

In all countries where secondary methods (applied after the formation of pollutants, i.e. post combustion control in the case of NO_x) are used for the control of NO_x emissions from stationary sources, processes of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) play a significant role. Depending on the state of the gas to be treated by SCR, the NO_x reduction is classified as a high or a low dust process. The NO_x removal is called selective because the reduction chemicals should react exclusively with the pollutant. Ammonia is applied as a suitable reduction medium on a technical scale.
