Interchanging information for document production is a critical area. Mechanisms for interchange of information must fulfil certain criteria in order to be useful: the mechanism must guarantee the integrity of the informationit must guarantee the consistency of the information;it must guarantee the completeness of the interchanged information;in shall ensure that the information is self-contained;it must ensure that the information has no side effects;it must ensure that there is no (or at least no unacceptable) loss of information.
