The Intelligent Network (IN) represents the most attractive network architecture for the uniform provision of future telecommunication services. This paper focuses on the upcoming management requirements of IN-structured telecommunication networks and investigates the application of current Telecommunication Management Network (TMN) concepts for the development of an integrated IN Management Model. Emphasis is put on an analysis of the relationships between network and service management, which is an emerging issue for management service providers due to ongoing deregulation efforts of the European telecommunication environment. After identifying basic issues to be encompassed for a suitable IN management model this paper proposes concepts for an integrated IN management architecture, the related IN management information model and the corresponding management service model.
