Über dieses Buch

This book mainly introduces an essential safety concept and procedure for electrical engineering in oil and gas field. It begins by providing broad guidelines for performing electrical safety and operability review (ELSOR), giving reader a general overview of the field. It subsequently verifies electrical distribution, overhead line and hazardous area classification safety analysis together with comparison of different international codes and standards with China national codes, to interpret different safety concepts from different countries for electrical engineering in oil and gas field. This unique and complete co-design safety analysis will greatly benefit international electrical engineers and operators of oil and gas fields.

This book is with vivid flow chart, accurate table expressing the analysis logic method and exact illustrations of code and standard of different country and area.

This book stresses the electrical design safety for surface facilities of oil and gas oil field and will benefit to engineer who works with oil and gas field surface facilities engineering.

Chapter 1. Electrical System Safety and Operability Review (ELSOR) for International Oilfield Surface Facilities
Abstract
The design safety philosophy of electrical system in international oil field surface engineering is integrated with advanced preview control and comprehensive treatment. In oil field surface facilities, electrical system is the heart to ensure reliable production, the detection of potential risk to ensure safe production becoming the primary task, and the potential risk analysis should be based on risk determination logic, applying scientific and rigorous method to evaluate the safety of engineering, construction and operation. Safety in electrical systems of international oilfield refers to the safety of personnel and equipment under normal, emergency and maintenance conditions, and equipment safety link to personnel safety directly. Therefore, safety judgment from the view of personnel and equipment is the key points of electrical system safety analysis in international oil field.

Chapter 2. Safety Analysis of Power Distribution Engineering in International Oil Field
Abstract
International oil fields are generally located in remote areas without national utilities system support, the design safety of power supply and distribution in international oil field surface engineering is particularly important. Only when the design safety is achieved then the safety of production and operation can be guaranteed. There are many mandatory technical requirements in industry and national standards for oil field power system engineering in domestic, but seldom and dispersed in different international standards.

Chapter 3. Safety Analysis for Overhead Transmission Line Design
Abstract
With the development of international oil field surface engineering, the power demand of each substation and switchyard is daily increased. The production department has more and more serious technical and commercial requirements on power supply, which not only need to meet the sufficient power demand, but also to guarantee its safety and reliability for the transmission lines. As the focal point of oil field power system, transmission line design plays the important role in the operation stability of the power grid system. The intrinsic design safety, environmental meteorological condition and man-made damage all have the significant impacts on the reliability of the system.

Chapter 4. Hazardous Area Classification for International Oilfield Surface Facilities
Abstract
Hazardous area classification provides a demonstrable methodology to identify areas in oil field where need to prevent fire and explosion with the potential risk of explosive atmosphere, and sources of ignition, and it is the significant guideline for oil field development. Hazardous Area Classification is important for international oilfield surface facilities, and it is not only the basis of Hazard and Operability Research (HAZOP) for the overall layout of the process in oilfield, but also provides necessary technical support for equipment selection and procurement. Due to the different developmental and technology level of petroleum industry, the standards and norms for Hazardous Area Classification are also different in the world.
