Abstract

Lithium (Li) metal batteries have been regarded as the “Holy Grail” of energy storage systems. However, practical applications of rechargeable Li metal batteries have not yet been commercialized after more than 40 years of research. The main barriers that prevent the application of these batteries will be reviewed in this chapter.
