This book problematizes the attempts by donor agencies and governments in developing countries to incorporate gender analysis in the work of development. It shows how after the global shifts from women to development institutions as the cause of gender inequality and the need to “get the institutions right” for achieving progress toward the goal of gender equality, gender sensitivity training became the main method of incorporating gender into development work, and why it is not a satisfactory solution.
