Zusammenfassung

Martin Dege rekonstruiert in seinem Beitrag die Entwicklung der Aktionsforschung von ihren Anfängen bei Jacob Levy Moreno und Kurt Lewin zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts bis hin zu den zeitgenössischen Dialog-Ansätzen und der in Lateinamerika, Asien und Afrika entstandenen Participatory Action Research. Dabei verfolgt Dege die These, dass der Aktionsforschungsprozess häufig impliziten Ideologieannahmen folge, die den abschließenden Evaluationsprozess zu einem pragmatischen Aussöhnen verschiedener Interessen machen. Dennoch handele es sich bei der Aktionsforschung um einen radikalen Ansatz empirischer Sozialwissenschaft, dessen Kern in der Aufhebung des scheinbaren Gegensatzes von wissenschaftlicher Wissensproduktion einerseits und politisch-eingreifendem Handeln andererseits bestehe.

Die aussagekräftigsten Beschreibungen finden sich bei Alex Bavelas, John French, und später Lester Coch (Bavelas und Lewin 1942; Coch und French Jr. 1948; French Jr. 1945; Marrow und French Jr. 1945) bzw. weit verteilt in den Publikationen Alfred Marrows (1964, 1967, 1969, 1972; Marrow et al. 1967).
