Abstract

Very recently, a new set of local performance indices has been proposed for an urban water supply system together with a useful mathematical model or, better, framework that organizes and provides the tools to treat the complex of these local parameters varying from node to node. In this paper, such indices are considered and examined in relation to hydraulic software using Demand Driven Analysis (DDA) or Pressure Driven Analysis (PDA). We investigate the needed hypotheses to obtain effective numerical simulations employing, in particular, EPANET or WaterNetGen, and the concrete applicability to a real water supply system known in literature as the KL network.
