Über dieses Buch

This book describes many aspects of power transformers. And it mainly provides valuable knowledges such as two deals with power transformer construction, different types of transformers and connections, power transformer core modelling, and the low-frequency and mid-frequency modelling of transformers.

Moreover, it also introduces a new method for high-frequency modelling of transformer which can attract many students learning the power transformer research field. The goal of this book is to educate the postgraduate students and engineers about principals and modeling of the transformers

Chapter 1. Power Transformers
Abstract
In this chapter deals with power transformers theory which includes ideal and real transformer theory and impedance of transformers. Power transformer steady state modeling is anthor part of this chapter. In this issue the experiments that can be used to extract a power transformer steady state model, no-load test and parallel impedance modeling, load loss test and impedance voltage, computation of transformer load loss at 750 C and computation of components of transformer model are important and are dealed.

Chapter 2. Power Transformers Construction
Abstract
Chapter two deals with power transformers construction which contains different types of winding such as: layer winding, multi-start winding, helical winding, disc winding and other types of winding. This chapter also deals with transformer core. Transformer assembling is dealed in this chapter and different parts and accessories of power transformers are described. Cooling methods of power transformers are another imporant subject which is dealed in this chapter.

Chapter 3. Different Types of Transformers and Connections, Protections and Remaining Life
Abstract
Chapter three deals with different types of transformers, transformers connections, transformers protections and remaining life of transformers. In this issue different types of transformers such as: power transformers, distribution transformers phase shifting transformers, rectifier ttansformers, dry-type transformers, instrument transformers and autotransformers are dealed. Power transformers protections and life expectancy of transformers are also included in this chapter.

Chapter 4. Transformer Core Modeling
Abstract
The behavior of ferromagnetic cores in transformers is characterized by nonlinear and frequency-dependent properties such as saturation, hysteresis, and eddy currents. These effects introduce complexities in the modeling of transformers, particularly in the low and mid-frequency range. Saturation and hysteresis lead to waveform distortion and power losses in the iron core, respectively. While saturation is the most significant effect in transformer modeling for many studies, hysteresis and eddy current effects play a crucial role in certain transient analyses. Therefore chapter four focuses on the modeling approaches for iron cores in power transformers.

Chapter 5. Low- and Mid-Frequency Modeling of Transformers
Abstract
The purpose of chapter five is to establish transformer models for investigating low- and mid-frequency transients, with a focus on addressing magnetic saturation effects, nonlinearities, and loss representation, which are critical concerns in these scenarios. The transformer's low- and mid-frequency models consist of two main components: the iron core and the windings. In Chap. 4, we have already presented the modeling of the iron core. Therefore, the objective of this chapter is to delve into the modeling of transformer windings and explore their integration with the iron core models to establish a comprehensive transformer model.

Chapter 6. High-Frequency Modeling of Power Transformers
Abstract
Transformers can be subjected to different overvoltages, which have a frequency of a few Hz to several MHz.
