Ontologis for Stock Market Manipulation

Stock market manipulation (SMM) is a small issue in developed market, for it only occurred on the over-the-counter (OTC) or regional market, while it is a much larger issue for emerging market, such as those in Turkey, Pakistan and China. Developing financial market is a very important part for developing countries. And SMM can hinder the development of the stock market by reducing market efficiency and making abnormal profit for manipulators. So it is significant to further deepen our understanding of how SMM occurs and relationship among related entities during the process, and then find some valid measures to avoid it. In this study, ontologies for the SMM in financial market are proposed. Three categories of ontologies, which include static ontology, dynamic ontology, and social ontology, are developed to deal with different perspectives in this domain. Finally, the case of Zhong Ke Manipulation (ZKM) is offered to demonstrate how the proposed ontologies are used in financial institutions.

3D-OSSDL: Three Dimensional Optimum Space Step Distance Localization Scheme in Stereo Wireless Sensor Networks

Three-dimensional node localization is still a crucial and challenging problem in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In this paper, a range free three dimensional optimum space step distance localization scheme (3D-OSSDL) is proposed by analyzing classic two dimensional DV-Hop propagation algorithm. In 3D network model, all nodes are randomly deployed in space and forms arbitrary network parameters. By optimizing distances from the network model, the optimum space step distance from nodes to anchors is obtained and the coordinates of all unknown nodes are derived finally. The proposed 3D-OSSDL achieves higher accuracy than classic DV-Hop propagation algorithm by 20%-30% typically and decreases communication overhead of the network. The simulation results proved our theoretical analysis.

Aspect Opinion Mining on Customer Reviews

e-commerce is becoming more and more popular and interactive, Merchants selling products on the Web 2.0 often ask their customers to review the products which they have purchased. The number of reviews can be in hundreds or even thousands for a popular product. This makes it difficult for a potential customer to read them or to make an informed decision on whether to purchase the product. It also makes it difficult for the manufacturer of the product to keep track of customer opinions. In this research, we aim to mine and to analyze all the customer reviews of a product. The algorithm proposed in this research is more reliable on opinion justice because it is unsupervised and the accuracy of the result improves as the number of reviews increases. Our research is performed in three steps: (1) mining the aspects and opinions of a product that have been commented on by customers; (2) identifying opinion words in each review and deciding whether each opinion word is positive, negative or neutral; (3) summarizing the results. This paper proposes several novel techniques to perform these tasks. Our experimental results using reviews of a number of products sold online demonstrate the effectiveness of the techniques.

Semantic Web Technologies Based Geospatial Services Discovery and Data Retrieval

One of the main barriers to making use of the wealth of available geospatial data is that researchers are unable to rapidly find relevant web services and efficiently retrieve desired geospatial data from different online sources. This paper focus on the development of the geospatial web services discovery and data retrieval system by leveraging the power of semantic web technologies. The most significant features of the approaches used in this work are reflected in two aspects. On one hand, this system combinational uses ontology and Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI)to reconcile semantic heterogeneity and associate semantic information with the web services discovery and data retrieval process. On the other hand, this system provides an interactive web environment which enables user to one-stop search, download and visualize different types of geospatial data in a single interface. Two investigations involving in searching relevant geospatial data on the Lake Tahoe Basin located at USA were made to verify the feasibility and validity of this system.

Dual Tree Complex Contourlet Texture Image Retrieval

Contourlet transform has better performance in directional information representation than wavelet transform and has been studied by many researchers in retrieval systems and has been shown that it is superior to wavelet ones at retrieval rate. In order to improve the retrieval rate further, a dual-tree complex contourlet transform based texture image retrieval system was proposed in this paper. In the system, the dual tree contourlet transform was used to transform each image into contourlet domain and implemented multiscale decomposition, sub-bands energy and standard deviations in contourlet domain are cascaded to form feature vectors, and the similarity metric used here is Canberra distance. Experimental results show that dual tree contourlet transform based image retrieval system is superior to those of the original contourlet transform, non-subsampled contourlet transform, semi-subsampled contourlet transform, contourlet-2.3 and contourlet-1.3 under the same system structure with almost same length of feature vectors, retrieval time and memory needed; and contourlet decomposition structure parameter can make significant effects on retrieval rates, especially scale number.

Study on Predication of Chaotic Time Series Based on Phase Space Reconstruction

The prediction of chaotic time series based on the phase space reconstruction was studied in this paper. Considering the exponent divergence of the trajectories of chaotic attractors, the nearest neighbours prediction model was improved with instant Lyapunov exponent, and the evaluation index which was applied to characterize the accuracy of prediction was given. Then, the influence of chaotic attractor structure on the prediction was investigated. Results show that when the phase space reconstruction parameters are chosen improperly, the attractor is deformed clearly, and the prediction errors increase obviously. Furthermore, the prediction is affected more seriously by the delay time than embedding dimension, but the calculation complexity is increased with higher embedding parameter.

A Model Study on Information Sharing to Tame the Bullwhip Effect in Supply Chain

Supply chain management has been a subject of both theoretical and empirical studies in the operations management literature. A major cause of supply chain deficiencies is the bullwhip effect. As a peculiar phenomenon in supply chain management, it has become a concern to both scholars and managers. Among the many ways to taming the bullwhip effect, information sharing is considered to be one of the most effective one. After briefly reviewing current research in information sharing, this paper introduces a model of information sharing and derives a threshold value. Based on the reality, the conditions for the threshold value are reconstructed. The result shows that the application of the two models contributes to effective measuring and controlling of information sharing, which is of theoretical value to the relieving of the bullwhip effect.

A Novel Segmentation Method for Breast Cancer Ultrasound CAD System

Ultrasound is one of the most often used methods for breast cancer detection because it’s harmless and low cost. However, tumor segmentation is very difficult in ultrasound images due to their specular nature and low quality of ultrasound images. In this paper, we employ a novel method for breast ultrasound (BUS) image segmentation using fuzzy logic. An US image is transformed into fuzzy domain by using s-function and maximum fuzzy entropy principle, and enhanced by fuzzy intensifying function. An iterative method is used to find threshold, then US image is converted to binary image on which a segmentation method is applied to get the final tumor boundary. The experiments show that our approach can process low quality ultrasound image very well.

The Study of Unsteady Flow in Cascade Based on Numerical Simulation

The effect of unsteady wake on cascade blade was studied with numerical simulation. The influence of wake on flow field and heat transfer around blade is analyzed by increasing the axial spacing between the vane and blade. The conclusions are as follows: The smaller the distance of stator and rotor is, the more uneven the circumferential distribution is. When the axial spacing increases, the wake of vane which spread to rotor decays gradually and the influences of wake on blade also decrease. Because of the impact of wake, the heat transfer of blade leading edge is very strong. When wake mixes with the mainstream gradually, the heat transfer coefficient of blade surface also decreases gradually. With the augment of axial space, the heat transfer coefficient of blade leading edge is reduced gradually, but the influence on suction surface and pressure surface is small.

BP Neural Network Combined with Thermodynamic Calculation Determining Boiler Optimal Operation Parameter Value

According to analyzing existing problems of methods of determining boiler optimal operation parameter value, we propose a method of BP neural network combined with thermodynamic calculation determining boiler optimal operation parameter value. We use BP neural network model to predict optimal parameter value of unburned carbon content in fly ash in the process of calculation. At the same time, different furnace exit gas temperature formula should be taken when the boiler is at different unit load. The optimal value of excess air level is got by using the principle of “climbing”. Finally, an example is used to verify that the method is feasible.

Ice-Shedding Vibration Measurement from Conductors Using Binocalor Vision Method

Ice-shedding will cause the violent oscillation of the lines, and makes the conductors jumping up and down. The jumping of the conductors reduces the phase-to-phase clearance, even leads to interphase flashover and structural destructivition. Aiming at the difficulties in measuring the vibration problem caused by ice-shedding of conductors, A sensing meathod on binocular vision theory is presented. The restriction between conductors in 3D space and image in camera are used to get the measurement model, which is based on binocular vision theory. The measurement mathematical model of conductor is soluted by standard length binocular visual system calibration meathod, then, the 3D information of conductor is recoveried. In the measurement experiment, the binocular vision measurement system is established. The experiment results indicate that the measuring system is both simple in structure and convenied for the vibration measurement of ice-shedding conductor.

Chaotic Prediction Method of Short-Term Wind Speed

With energy and environmental problems have become increasingly prominent, wind power generation, as a clean, renewable energy, is taken seriously. Wind speed forecasting is very important to wind power plants and power systems. Chaos theory and methods are used to discuss the wind speed prediction problem in this paper. Firstly, the time delay and the embedding dimension are calculated by correlation integral approach for reconstructing phase space of wind speed time series. Then wind speed chaotic prediction model of optimal neighborhood is proposed which gives overall consideration to generalized degrees of freedom and the nearest neighbors’ weights. Furthermore, an improved criterion for selecting neighborhood is given which avoids the deficiency of fixed neighbors and without considering neighbors’ weight. The practical calculation shows that the proposed model has superior predictive capability under the appropriate model parameters. But wind speed chaotic prediction is still in the initial stage of exploration, there are many points needed by further discussion.

Experimental Investigation on the Pressure Drop, Heat Transfer and Fouling Characteristics in Convergent-Divergent Tube

The characteristics of turbulent flow, heat transfer and fouling in convergent-divergent tube with two types were investigated by experiments. The flow resistance coefficient, enhancement ratio (Ka/Kp) and fouling resistance were tested under the identical conditions, and the comparative experiments were carried out between convergent-divergent tubes and their corresponding plain tube. The experimental results showed that the two convergent-divergent tubes do well in heat transfer ability and exergy coefficient, but they have more loss of pressure drop; on the other hand, compared with the corresponding plain tube, the two convergent-divergent tubes have advantages in anti-fouling performance, since the convergent-divergent tube I and II have smaller fouling thermal resistance asymptotic values than the corresponding plain tube.

The Researches of the Couple Numerical Model of Groundwater Flow, Heat Transferring and Solute Movement and the Application of Energy Storage in Brackish Aquifers

Based on the basic principle of water-heat transferring in aquifer, this paper establishes a three-dimensional couple numerical model of groundwater flow, heat transferring and solute movement in advantage of the significant variation of groundwater density and viscosity coefficient in energy storage and recovery in brackish aquifer. The revised numerical model is applied to predict the evolution process of the groundwater flow and geo-temperature fields in one brackish aquifer energy storage and recovery system in Tianjin Binhai New Area for the next five years. The results show that: the Darcy velocity of fluid increases when groundwater temperature grows in heat storage season in summer and decreases with the descent of groundwater temperature in cold storage season in winter, which brings some influences on the geo-temperature field in brackish aquifers. At the end of the cold storage season in the 5th year, heat transfixion occurs when the water temperature of 3

rd

pumping well increases for 0.5°C. In conclusion, as the coefficient of hydraulic conductivity having a same change with the geo-temperature and concentration in brackish aquifers when the hydrogeology condition of brackish aquifer remains the same. the coefficient of hydraulic conductivity will increase or decrease for 35% when the groundwater temperature has a 10°C increase or decrease compared to the initial one.

Identification Method of Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow Regime Based on Wavelet Packet Energy Feature and PNN

According to the non-stationary characteristics of differential pressure fluctuation signals, a flow regime identification method based on wavelet packet energy feature and probabilistic neural network (PNN) is put forward in this paper. Firstly, original differential pressure fluctuation signals are decomposed into a finite number of different frequency band signals, and then the concept of wavelet packet energy entropy is proposed. The analysis results from wavelet packet energy entropy of different differential pressure fluctuation signals show that the energy of differential pressure fluctuation signals will change in different frequency bands when bearing flow regimes. Therefore, to identify flow regimes, energy feature extracted from a number of frequency band signals that contained the most dominant flow regime information could served as input probabilistic neural network. The analysis results form air-water two-phase flow in horizontal pipe four flow regimes show that the identify approach of PNN based on wavelet packet transform extracting the energy of different frequency bands as features can identify flow regimes accurately and effectively.

Comparative Study on Associated Energy Combined Cycle System Schemes in Ironmaking Process

Two schemes recovering associated energy (sintering waste heat and redundant gases) from ironmaking process, which consisted of sintering waste heat subsystem and redundant gas fired combined cycle subsystem by means of integration, were proposed. Based on the theory of energy, exergy and energy level balances, the thermodynamic performances of the two schemes in the paper were analyzed. Meanwhile, a user-defined parameter called thermodynamic performance factor was also introduced. Results show that under the same conditions of initial parameters, energy and exergy efficiencies of the system in scheme 2 increase by 0.67% and 0.27%, respectively, than that of the system in scheme 1, and energy difference keeps invariant. The thermodynamic performance factor of the system shown in scheme 2 is 0.5199, which increases by 3.05% than that of the system in scheme 1. By comparison, it is suggested to take the scheme 2, in which the disadvantage that fuel could not be cascade utilized in afterburning heat recovery steam generator was spurned, as the applied scheme. The system and the method presented above can offer beneficial references for recovery and utilization of waste heat in highly energy-consuming trades, such as steel, coal, and so on.

Their scale inhibition rates of calcium carbonate were evaluated by static scale experiments. The inhibition rate of calcium carbonate was 90.2% when n(amino-sulfonic): n(PSI) =1:14 and the dosage of pharmaceutical was 12mg /L. The inhibition rate of calcium carbonate was 87.6% when n(diisopropylamine):n(PSI)=1:8 and the dosage of pharmaceutical was 15mg /L. The calcium carbonate that collected from static state experiments was analysised by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that polyaspartic acid derivatives were synthesized which had the best overall performance when n (amino-sulfonic): n (PSI) = 1:14.

Synthesis of Amphipathic Compound and in the Role of Self-assembled Photonic Film

Solvent evaporation self-assembly was a method that using small drops of water as a template to prepare photonics thin films. Drops of water can form ordered arrays on the surface of the cold polymer solution, polymer materials formation of the ordered porous film according to the morphology of water droplets after solvent evaporation, Core technology of this approach was prepared of amphiphilic copolymer structure to stabilize tiny water droplets and formation of orderly homogeneous porous membrane structure. This research through synthesized the N-dodecyl acrylamide and acrylic acid copolymer (PNDA) then prepared polystyrene ordered porous membranes as a stabilizer. Through comparing confirmed that this amphiphilic copolymer was an effective material to promote molecular self-assembly to form photonic films.

Application of a Fuzzy Self-tuning PI Controller in a Grid-Connected PV Generation System

This paper presents the mathematical model of the pv array and analyzes the structure of a three-phase grid-connected PV generation system (GCPS). In order to get better waveforms of grid current, a fuzzy self-tuning PI controller is introduced into the GCPS, and it can tune the PI controller parameters automatically according to changes of system parameters. In order to realize the maximum power transmission with unit power factor of the GCPS, the maximum power point track (MPPT) control and the control on active power and reactive respectively with fuzzy PI controller are also used. Finally a pv array model and a MPPT model are developed, and the proposed GCPS is simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results show that the fuzzy self-tuning PI controller for the GCPS is effective.

Study on Identification Method of Tool Wear Based on Singular Value Decomposition and Least Squares Support Vector Machine

In view of the non-stationary characteristics of acoustic emission signal of tool wear, and the slow convergence rate of learning algorithm and easily dropping into the local minimum value for BP neural networks, a novel method of tool wear state identification based on singular value decomposition and least squares support vector machine was proposed. Firstly, the empirical mode decomposition method was used to decompose the collected acoustic emission signals into a number of intrinsic mode function which was used to construct the initial feature vector matrix. Then by applying the singular value decomposition method to the initial feature vector matrix, the singular values were obtained. Finally, the singular spectrum was selected to constitute the feature vector. The feature vector was divided into two groups, one group was used to train the least squares support vector machine and the other was used to identify the tool wear state. The identification result proves that this method is superior to BP neural network, and it has a higher identification rate. It is proved that this method is efficient and feasible.
