Accelerators transform fledgling entrepreneurial businesses into powerful engines of growth. The Accelerator takes the entrepreneurial fledgling organization of the Creator and puts systems and structures in place to enable the organization to successfully grow and manage that growth. The Accelerator retains the same vision for the organization as the Creator but enables that vision to become a reality. The Accelerator is very much driven by detail, and attention to detail is far more important at this Growth phase of the lifecycle than in the Creation phase where the big picture vision was paramount. While the chaotic organization of the Creator provided necessary flexibility for the organization in the Creation phase, as the company establishes itself in the marketplace and gains acceptance, the Accelerator brings order to the chaos and focuses in on scalable routines, procedures, and systems to produce that order. As such, the primary focus moves from flexibility to efficiency as the strategic priority of the organization shifts from speed to market as the Creator attempts to get the product out of the door, to growth as the Accelerator seeks to accelerate growth in market share from the initial foothold that has been established.
